Through the course of a year, Roy struggles through ups and downs with Rose, until finally all of his dreams seem to be finally coming true. Men like you, who don't appreciate what they already have when they have it, doesn't deserve me. There is just enough drama and mystery to keep the reader intrigued without being over the top. I need you more than I need anything else. And just when things seem to be going right for Roy… His past comes storming back into his life in the form of Rose… Hello past… meet present.
Okay, on with the review. But now that they are returning to France for a tour, he realizes he is about to come face to face with the one that turned him down and has kept him guessing since their paths crossed a year ago. I did fall in love with him during the course of the book. Although uneasy about divulging his past, he does the interview taking the reader back to a past of hell that changed everything for Roy. While they will all be answered, you may find yourself surprised at how it all plays out. He was treated so poorly by Corey and his group. But I was raised to be strong—to hold my own.
The first books really didn't go into him very much. Because of it, I was hurt, torn down, beaten, and even had my heart snatched right out of my chest. Yes, Rosemarie returns and Roy, despite his best intentions, makes a series of bad choices and leaves Kelsey with no choice but to kick him to the curb. But this book was actually less angsty, and more positive than the other books. He is one of those good guys that does bad things because fate has forced his hand. I think it's the fixer in me. I had the privilege of beta reading for Shanora and what an experience it has been.
He does not hold back and we learn all about his mother, the band before it hit it big, Rose, Corey and all the things he had to do to make a living. She'll ignore him, she'll dislike his ways, she'll do anything to try and stay away from him until Gage finally gets her to slip up and give in. But I was raised to be strong - to hold my own. I knew he had secrets. Their relationship has a lot of ups and downs and in the end he is left bitter and broken-hearted. The first 2 books in this series were about Gage and Eliza's story. My love for you hasn't faded.
In book two, you catch a glimpse of Roy's past, but this is truly heartbreaking. Their relationship was good for both of them since they were both moving on from trust issues and heartbreak. I loved getting to know more about Roy and what made him the man he turned out to be. I've been knocked around and pushed down. It also covers the early days of Fire Nine and how they got started and how they came up with their band name. I have loved reading this series and meeting these guys and the girls that make them be better men than they were before.
Kelsey is sweet and beautiful and she genuinely loves Roy …. Love is what literally twisted me up, tossed me around, spat me out, and destroyed me. This is my story, and trust me… its far from pretty. He has to learn to let go of the past and fight for his future and go after what he truly wants. I look forward to finding out about the other books in this band.
I felt for Roy in so many ways. I am so proud of the finished product and so proud of her! She is who I am. I have always been a fan of this series, since the beginning. Well we get our answer and so much more in this juicy book!! So yes, I will strip this away from you. You could've come clean to me the first day you saw her-- at the party. I couldn't feel the connection with Roy and Kelsey because a majority of the book wasn't about them. Roy-- Lead guitarist hot as hell! I saw her hug you.
I am a Coaches wife and Basketball Mom. My band was all I lived for. This book was fantastic, I couldn't reccomend it more and if like me you love the FireNine boys you will love the third book in the series. He is even obnoxious enough to follow her around her first day when she meets her new supervisor who is described as young and clean but then turns into middle aged a few pages later. Can Eliza and Gage overcome it all? I've been forced to do things I never wanted to do. This story is about Roy and Kelsey.
I always feel really connected to her characters. Or at least I would have thought. He saw how much she sacrificed for him and the things she did to make sure he had what he needed growing up and he wanted to do all those things in return. He quickly falls in love with her. In this story you learn what makes this brilliant sexy musician who he is.
